A woman was threatened and robbed of her handbag in Stockport.
At around 11.30am on Tuesday 18 December 2012, the 56-year-old was leaving a house on Woodgate Close, Bredbury and got into her car when two men on a motorbike approached her.
The passenger on the bike got off and walked up to the driver's door and demanded she hand over her bag.
He then grabbed hold of the bag and pulled it before the strap snapped. Both men drove off towards the Sandiway area.
The man who committed the robbery is described as being white, of slim build, and wore a helmet and dark clothing. He spoke with a local accent.
The vehicle is described as being a black and white off-road bike.
Detective Adele Coulter from Stockport CID said: "This woman suffered a broken finger and tendon damage to her hand, such was the force the man pulled the bag from her. She desperately hung on but the man was too strong.
"I would firstly ask anyone who may have witnessed the robbery to get in touch. It happened in broad daylight and we believe someone would have seen something. If you did, we are keen to hear from you.
"Secondly, I would ask people to keep their car doors locked and keep valuables out of sight. There is always someone looking for an opportunity to steal property but taking these precautions can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime."
