Police are appealing for witnesses after a 27-year-old man was assaulted in Manchester city centre.

At 2.55am on Wednesday 5 December 2012, the victim was standing outside Joshua Brooks bar in on Princess Street when a group of people spoke to the victim.

He was then punched by a woman and a further two men continued to assault him, kicking him to the floor.

The victim was knocked unconscious and the offenders ran off.

Detective Constable Sarah Wright based at Bootle Street Police Station said: “We believe the assault was completely unprovoked and left the victim with facial injuries.  Unfortunately, we do not have descriptions of the offenders but believe a number of people would have witnessed the attack.  If you were one of those people, please phone police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 3120 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
