/ Couple threatened by men armed with screwdrivers

A couple were threatened by men armed with screwdrivers during a robbery at their Bolton home.

At about 7.30pm on 28 December 2012, the occupants answered a call at their home on Ellesmere Road.

A 58-year-old man and 54-year-old woman were threatened by the intruders, one of whom ripped a gold necklace from the woman's neck. The couple were left with injuries to their face, neck and body from these intruders.

They ran off across a nearby field with some jewellery and money which the couple had been collecting for charity.

Both of the intruders are described as Asian, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, between 20 and 30-years-old and dressed in dark clothing.

Police Constable Joanne Atkins, of the Volume Crime Team, said: "The occupants are still recovering from being threatened and hurt in their own home and I want to hear from anyone with information about the incident or those responsible.

"Anyone with information is asked to call the Volume Crime Team on 0161 856 0958 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
