Masked men terrified members of staff during a robbery in Wigan.

At about 9.40pm on Sunday 23 December 2012, the three men went into the Coop store on Woodhouse Lane.

They demanded that all members of staff, three women, get into the back of the store with them.

The offenders then made threats to the members of staff and their manager.

After stealing cash, they left through the front entrance.

They are described as being three men with their faces covered. They were in dark clothing and tracksuit bottoms and one of them had a Merseyside accent.

Detective Sergeant Graham Clare said: “While nobody was hurt, the victims were left badly shaken up by this robbery.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have seen the offenders leaving the store to call us.

“We have launched a number of enquiries to trace those responsible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 2354 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
