Two people have been charged after a man was stabbed in Hindley.
Lee James Henry Daniels (born 23/08/1986), of Castleway, Hindley, Wigan, and Kieran David Wright (born 10/03/1986), of Castleway, Hindley, Wigan, are both charged with s18 assault, attempt robbery, burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.
They are due before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on 21 February 2013.
At about 9.55am on Sunday 17 February 2013, the 59-year-old victim was just leaving a relative's home on Worcester Avenue when he was confronted by two men.
The men demanded the keys to his white C220 Mercedes 11 plate and then stabbed him 13 times, leaving him with serious injuries to his arms and face.
The victim continues to make good progress as he recovers.
Detective Inspector Graham Atherton said: "Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, we have now charged two individuals with s18 wounding, attempt robbery, burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.
"I know people in the community will continue to have questions but it is important we let the legal process take its natural course and not speculate.
"What I would say is that we are continuing to appeal to anyone with information about this attack to come forward, and we have not ruled out making further arrests of those who may have been involved in any aspect of this investigation."
