Three men walked into a bookmakers with a gun during an attempted armed robbery in Chorlton.
At around 5.45pm on Wednesday 13 February 2013, the trio approached the counter of William Hill bookmakers on Manchester Road and tried to open the door leading into the back office.
They then tried to force the door but it would not open and left empty handed.
One man is described as 6ft tall, of medium build and wore a dark top, black trousers and black shoes. It is believed he was carrying a silver gun.
The second is described as being 5ft 8in tall, of slim build, a black hooded jacket and blue jeans.
The third wore dark clothing.
Detective Constable Daniel Gaffney based at West Didsbury Police Station said: “Thankfully, the men did not steal anything and no one was hurt. We believe one of them was carrying either a silver handgun or a replica and it is likely staff would have been threatened had they managed to get in.
“I would ask anyone who was near to the bookies and saw these men either walk in or leave to contact police.”
