A man has died following a collision in Bolton

A man has died following a collision in Bolton.

It happened around 2.25am on Sunday 17 February 2013 when a silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling down Coal Pit Road, the driver lost control and collided with a wall.

The car rebounded, continued down the road and finally came to a stop on Smithills Dean Road.

One of the passengers 25-year-old Khadar Nur suffered a serious head injury. He was taken to Hope Hospital where his condition deteriorated and at 3.45pm sadly died.

The driver of the Astra and two other passengers were also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

His sister said, “Khadar was an overall a nice big brother. He was kind, considerate and gentle, a good brother, a good son and a good uncle. 

"Khadar means everything to us and we are feeling empty. What has happened hasn't sunk in properly yet"

The driver of the Astra and two other passengers were also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police Constable Mark Potter, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and we have a team of trained officers helping them get through this difficult time.

“We are investigating this incident which happened in the early hours of Sunday morning to establish the exact circumstances leading up to this collision.

“I want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw a silver Vauxhall Astra before the collision.”
