A man has been left with life threatening injuries following a collision in Wigan.
Shortly before 9.30am on Thursday 5 October 2017, police were called to reports of a collision between a blue Peugeot 206 and a pedestrian on New Market Street.
The pedestrian, a 40-year-old man from Wigan, was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering a serious head injury.
A 36-year-old man was arrested and has since been released under investigation.
Police Constable Phil Shaw of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are doing all we can to support the man’s family at this difficult time.
“Our investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident is ongoing and I would ask for anybody with information to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“This happened at a busy time of day, so if you witnessed the collision or have any CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist our investigation then please get in touch.”
