GMP's response to the Kerslake Review

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: “We welcome this Progress Report and will continue to fully support the Kerslake Inquiry as it works towards the publication of the final report and outlining any lessons to be learnt from the response.

“Supporting victims was at the heart of GMP's response from the moment the appalling terrorist attack took place on 22 May. We welcome the principles of the Charter outlined in the Progress Report.

“These principals are at the heart of the work GMP does every day and are clearly covered in the Police Service Code of Ethics that all forces adopted from 2014.

“We remain committed to supporting the families of the 22 people who died, the many hundreds of people who remain physically and emotionally affected by the Manchester Arena attack and the brave members of the emergency services.”
