Ben Edgar (08/05/1992), of Ashton Street, Little Lever, was found guilty of the murder of Mark Stephen Leon Wood.
At Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday 4 December 2012, Edgar was sentenced to life in prison and ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years.
Shortly before 3am on Tuesday 12 June 2012, police were called to an address on Ashton Street, Little Lever, following reports of a fight.
Moments later police received a second call to the address from the ambulance service who had received a report that a man had been stabbed.

Officers attended and discovered 28-year-old Mark with a serious neck injury.
He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.
The pair had been involved in an argument that resulted with Edgar stabbing him in the neck.
A home office post mortem concluded he died from a stab wound to the neck.
Detective Inspector Andy Cunliffe, said: “A family has been torn apart and a much loved son, brother and father has been killed and I would like to express my deepest sympathy to them."
