Image released following attempted bank robbery in Sale

Police have released an image of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery at a bank in Sale.

At around 4:25pm on Thursday 7 September 2017, a woman approached the counter at the RBS bank on The Mall and passed a threatening note to the cashier before demanding cash.

When the cashier told the woman that she could not access the cash storage areas, the offender fled the scene.

Detectives investigating the incident have now released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to.

Detective Constable Steve Matthias of GMP’s Trafford borough said: “Although some time has passed since this incident took place, we have released this image in the hope that somebody will be able to recognise this woman.

“We are keen to speak to her and would ask that anybody who recognises her contacts police.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1214 of 08/09/17, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
