Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injury after collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision in Tameside.

At around 10.30pm on Tuesday 15 May 2012, a 23-year-old motorcyclist was riding along Audenshaw Road near to the roundabout junction with Stamford Road.

As he left the roundabout, he collided with a bus stop.

It is thought no other vehicles were involved.

He was taken to hospital suffering from serious head and chest injuries which are described as life threatening.

Senior Investigating Officer, Police Sergeant Lee Westhead said, “An investigation has now commenced to establish the cause of the collision, we would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or who has any information that may assist with our investigation.

“Our thoughts are with the young man’s family and they are being supported by a trained officer. The investigation team can be contacted on 0161 856 4741 ”
