The GMP Museum is based in the Victorian Police Station on Newton Street in Manchester City Centre. Opened in 1981,  the museum contains the station's original charge office, cells and a Victorian Magistrates Court rescued from Denton Police Station, together with displays of uniforms and equipment through the ages. The museum has public open days through the year as well as special events during Manchester school holiday times.
