Police have released an image in connection with an attempted robbery in Northenden.
At around 6.30pm on Friday 13 October 2017, police were called to reports of an attempted robbery at a newsagents on Royle Green Road.
A man had entered the shop and told the assistant that he had a knife, demanding that they give him money from behind the counter.
He then pulled out a metal object from his pocket, before the offender fled the shop and left on a bicycle.
Police have now released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
Police Constable Kevin Kutryk of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “The last thing you’d expect in the early evening is to be met with an offender making threats.
“We’ve released an image of a man we wish to speak to, in the hope that someone will recognise him and can help our investigation into this incident.
“I’d also ask anyone who was near the shop or in the area and heard any kind of disturbance, to please get in touch with police and share what you know.”
