Fourteen people have been arrested after raids this morning in Wigan.
Today (Thursday 30 November 2017) GMP officers searched properties across Wigan and Merseyside as part of an investigation into drug networks in the area.
Code-named Operation Land, a substantial amount of drugs have been seized as part of today’s activity.
The investigation has been carried out by officers from Wigan Organised Crime team assisted by other law enforcement agencies, as well as officers from Wigan and Merseyside.
A total of 14 people were arrested on conspiracy to supply Class A controlled drugs.
Superintendent Steve Keeley of GMP’s Wigan borough, said: “Drug abuse, addiction and supply have a devastating effect on individuals, those close to them and on the communities they live in.
“We tirelessly investigate people who benefit from the supply of drugs and work with partner agencies to offer the help and assistance needed by those impacted by these substances.
“Our aim is always to protect communities and work together in doing so, which is why I’d ask the public to continue to report anything suspicious to police.”
