A man has been seriously injured in Farnworth collision


A man has been left with multiple serious injuries following a collision in Farnworth. 

At around 8.10pm on Monday 6 November 2017, police were called to reports of a collision involving a silver Lexus IS 200 and an Aprilia motorbike on George Street. 

The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene to speak with officers and was not injured. 

The driver of the Aprilia, a 22-year-old man from Farnworth, was taken to hospital with serious head and leg injuries which are described as potentially life changing. 

No arrests have been made. 

Police Sergeant Lee Westhead of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a serious collision that has left a man in hospital with life changing injuries and our thoughts remain with him at this difficult time. 

“Our investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision remains ongoing and I would ask that anybody with information contacts the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. 

“We are appealing for anyone that witnessed the collision or may have any CCTV or dash-cam footage to please get in touch.”
