By day Jackie Longdin works as the head of business performance for Countrywide property lawyers. She is one of our latest volunteers to give up her own time to become a special constable.
Her day job comes with its own challenges as she often collaborates with people from a variety of backgrounds.
She said: “Communication is incredibly important as part of my role and it’s this skill alongside the ability to make on the spot decisions which I will be taking with me as a special constable.
“I’ve always had an interest in joining the police and recent events in the city brought this decision forward. While I feel rewarded in my day job I am now looking forward to helping my community and making them feel safer.”
Jackie was attested into her role as a special constable on Tuesday 19 June.
Special constables volunteer their own time to support police forces in performing their duty to protect the public.
