Your Inspector

Mark Peary
We have also set up more community meetings that you can feed into to tell us about issues in your community and influence what issues are the top priorities for us to work on. PACT (Police and Community Together) meetings have now been set up across each of the areas and run every month.
We are running a joint operation in conjunction with Lancashire Constabulary, to target criminals that operate across our county borders, ensuring they don't cause problems for our residents. Joint visits have been made to key offenders' homes and this work will continue over coming months.
We have run numerous significant operations to curb predicted increases in anti-social behaviour. I am aware that members of the community feel most affected by incidents of this kind within their neighbourhoods and – consequently - one of our main policing priorities continues to be to reduce this behaviour.
As one example, a new CCTV camera has been installed at Red Lane in Breightmet following some complaints of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage.
Checks will be continue to be made with Trading Standards for underage alcohol sales at off-licences and anyone found drinking underage will have their alcohol seized and their parents will be informed.
Please don't make it easy for thieves and ensure you lock up behind you when you walk into your house. A third of burglars still gain access to homes in the area by walking in through an open or unlocked door.
Thank you for continuing to support your local officers and we look forward to working with you this year.
