The simple three-point message is a reminder to put the Alarm on, Lock all doors and windows and leave a Light on when leaving your home empty.
There is usually an increase in break-ins at this time of year as evenings become darker.
This creates ideal opportunities for thieves, but by following the crime prevention advice residents can deter them as it makes their home a less attractive target for burglars.
Between 1 April and 24 August 2010 there were 245 break-ins across the Metropolitan Division as a result of insecurities, and that's why informing residents about how they can avoid becoming burglary victims remains a top priority for us.
The Rusholme, Fallowfield and Whalley Range Neighbourhood Policing Team wants to hear from you about any issues and problems that are affecting your day-to-day life. You can get in touch with us by giving us a call, sending an email, attending a police surgery or filling out the priority form on this website.
We are working hard to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in this area and information from the community is vital...
