Darren Kershaw
My name is Darren Kershaw and I’m the new Inspector for the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team. My priorities for the area are quite simple. I want to build on the good work that is constantly being done by my team of officers and PCSOs who work closely with the council, businesses and licensees to provide an improved quality of life for our residents, workers and visitors.
The city brings a range of issues from anti-social behaviour to car crime, both of which can be a 24-hour concern in such a busy and vibrant place. My team makes it their daily business to channel our efforts and resources into reducing this type of crime. I ask that you help us by considering your own safety while enjoying the city this summer and by telling us if there is a crime-related issue you think we need to address in your area.
I have been a police officer for 24 years and have policed the city centre at all ranks so I am proud to return as Neighbourhood Inspector. I look forward to meeting members of our community and ensuring that the area remains a safe and happy place to live in, work in and enjoy.
