At the beginning of June we ran a major operation where many officers from specialist units such as the Tactical Aid Unit, Firearms, Dog Unit, Mounted Officers and Traffic Officers took to the streets of Collyhurst, Harpurhey and Moston to patrol the area. The operation proved to be extremely successful and resulted in several arrests and plenty of good feedback from the community.
As we move into July, tackling burglary continues to a priority for the neighbourhood team. I urge all residents to take extra time to ensure their property is secure during the summer months. Please don’t leave windows and doors open or unlocked and keep valuables out of sight.
Year on year the summer months see an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour as schools close for the holidays. This obviously affects the quality of lives of members of the community. We are tackling anti-social behaviour with Operation Synergy during the weekend and at key times.
