The Pennine Neighbourhood Policing Team is working hard to address the issues affecting your community and to reduce crime.

The main issues affecting your neighbourhood area:

Anti-social behaviour
Burglary
Off-road biking

You will find your meetings and surgeries under the meetings tab on this page.

During the summer months the team have turned their attention to concerns of off road biking.
Several successful initiatives have been held to tackle this problem in recent months and a number of bikes have been seized. However we would like to remind everyone that it is illegal to ride off-road bikes on any public road or space. Not only are they a nuisance but they are also a real danger to both the public and the rider.
We have also been increasing patrols and leafleting the areas that have been highlighted as hotspots for burglary. We know that this is a concern of yours and we want to remind you we are working hard to target the offenders and make them pay for their crimes. We aim to keep you updated with any arrests we make for crimes in this area.

Officers continue to work on Operation Quasar. This is our weekend initiative designed to tackle anti-social behaviour. During the summer holiday period patrols have been increased to end any activity that makes life difficult for residents.

Early visits will be made to known ‘hotspots’ and groups of youths will be warned of the consequences of their actions. Working alongside the licensing officers the Neighbourhood Policing Teams will visit licensed premises to remind staff of their responsibilities and will use a wide range of enforcement tactics including, stop and accounts, public order legislation, fixed penalty notices and directions to leave an area.

Can I also remind everyone about the importance of being alert and vigilant to bogus callers. This comes following concerns of an increase of this crime in the Pennine’s. Please see the crime prevention section of the website for more guidance on what to do if you think someone is a bogus caller.
