Residents have told us that anti-social behaviour is one of their greatest concerns. I appreciate the impact that this can have on your quality of life and I want to reassure you that we take it very seriously.

To tackle anti-social behaviour we are running an operation at weekends called Operation Synergy. This involves high profile patrols in hotspot areas to deter anti-social behaviour but also to offer support to vulnerable young people. So far this work has had a positive impact on anti-social behaviour and we will be looking to build upon this with Operation Summer Garden, which is a Wythenshawe wide approach to tackling anti-social behaviour throughout the summer holidays.

In Newall Green a community centre has been opened on Chalford Road. This centre has been paid for using cash that has been seized from criminals and will provide young people with positive activities to deter them from anti-social behaviour. The community centre has been well received by members of the community and I am sure it will have a positive impact on the area.

Aside from anti-social behaviour, residents in Brooklands have told us that they are concerned about vehicle crime. We have been proactively patrolling hotspot areas and offering crime prevention advice to residents. Many vehicle crimes are opportunist so please remove the temptation for thieves by taking valuables out of your car and wiping away sat nav sucker marks.
