GMP Stars Awards 2017
The best of Greater Manchester Police officers and staff have been recognised at this year’s GMP Chief Constable’s STARS awards, which took place on Friday 6 October 2017.
Mike Sweeney, local radio legend, was Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

The Karin Mulligan Diversity in Action Award Winners - Police Link Officers for Deaf People Team.
Karin Mulligan was one of Britain's most senior black police women. Karin was an exemplary officer who challenged injustice and discrimination wherever she found it. She died in 2009 after losing her battle with cancer. Her daughter Claudia Mulligan was invited by the Chief Constable to present the award.
Innovation/Best Practice Award Winner - Gareth Greave
Gareth, Another one of the nights winners is a dog handler with GMP. He improved the way Tactical Dog Handlers across the force submit statements, setting a new standard and dramatically improved the submission of body worn evidence with the Professional Standards Branch describing his work as excellent.
Investigative Excellence Award Winners - 'Man on the Moors' Investigation Team from Oldham.
Man on the Moors' Investigation Team from Oldham, another one of tonights winners, completed an very intense and detailed investigation which was subsequently made into a documentary which was aired on Channel 4 earlier in 2017.
