/ Appeal after elderly man burgled in Harpurhey

Detectives are appealing for information after an elderly man was burgled at his home in Harpurhey.
At around 10am on Saturday 15 July 2017, police were called to Blackstone Walk to reports of a burglary.
The man entered the victim’s home through the back door and searched the property before trying to flee.
The victim - who is in his 90s - attempted to stop him but was pushed to the side.
The offender has been described as a white man of slim build.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for the public’s help to trace the man responsible.
Detective Inspector Rob Howarth, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “This has been a traumatic experience for the victim who is understandably upset as the intruder stole his property.
“Thankfully no-one was injured however the offender still invaded an innocent elderly person’s home, leaving them shaken and feeling vulnerable.
“I would appeal to anyone, including members of the criminal fraternity to come forward with any information that could help us to identify the offender and bring them to justice.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 724 of 15/07/17, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
