Last week 113 new recruits were attested into the role of police officer. Here is a case study about one of the latest recruits.
Law graduate Jack Roughley swapped a role as a PCSO to become a police officer based at Bury Division.
The 24-year old from Preston worked for Lancashire Constabulary where he was seconded to work on a Prince’s Trust project to support young people aged 16-25.
He said: “Working on the project was great because it provided me with the opportunity to build the team leading skills required for the role of a police officer.
“I wanted to work in the police service because I wanted to work in an environment where no one day is the same and you are actively helping people every day.
“I look forward to the opportunities that will come through my role.”
