Robbery at Chemist in Bredbury

Police have issued images after a chemist was robbed in Bredbury.

Shortly after 12.15pm on Friday 17 March 2017, police were called after a man went into Cohen’s Chemist on Higher Bents Lane, armed with a screwdriver and demanded staff open the till.

The man grabbed a member of staff and forced them to hand over the cash then walked out of the shop and down Wild Street.

The man is described as white, of slim build, around 6ft2in tall and between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a long navy coat, a blue scarf, blue tracksuit bottoms with stripes down the side and a beanie hat with light coloured stripes going around the hat.

Detective Constable Adele Coulter from GMP’s Stockport Borough said: “We are keen to identify the man in the pictures, although they are blurry, we hope someone may recognise him.

“We believe the same man could be responsible for a similar robbery the previous day on Thursday 16 March at Pressed For Time ironing Service on Berrycroft Lane in Bredbury. Staff were forced to open the till and give the man cash.

“Luckily no one was hurt in either robbery; however victims were left shaken by the terrifying incidents.”
