Man charged after number of guns found in house

A man has been charged after a number of loaded guns were found in a house.


Martin Merchant (12/03/1963) of City Road, Hulme has been charged three counts of possession of a firearm and one count of possession of ammunition.


He remains in custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 8 September 2017.


At around 5pm on Thursday 7 September 2017 police were called to reports that a man had been threatened with a gun at a house on City Road, Hulme.


Officers attended, a search of the address was carried out and four guns were recovered.
