Image released after elderly woman robbed in Bolton

Police have released an image of a man after an elderly woman was robbed in Bolton.

At around 12.30pm on Wednesday 12 July 2017, police were called to reports of a robbery on Nut Street.

A woman had been walking along the street when she heard footsteps approaching from behind.

When she turned to see who was following her, a man grabbed her shopping bag and put his hand on her shoulder.

She then fell over and hit her head, while the man ran off in another direction.

Police have now released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with this incident.

Detective Constable David Abram of GMP’s Bolton Borough, said: “The man robbed and abandoned this elderly woman with a head injury, leaving her in pain on the floor.

“We have released an image of a man we wish to speak to, and are asking for anyone who can help us identify him to please get in touch.

“If you were in the area at the time and saw something that seemed unusual, I’m asking for you to come forward and help with our investigation.”
