Manchester United's match with Saint-ÿtienne passed without incident.
Old Trafford welcomed around three and a half thousand Saint-ÿtienne fans for Thursday night's Europa League fixture.
Officers were out and about around the stadium and the surrounding area making sure the fixture passed without major incident.
Superintendent Leor Giladi, match commander, said: "This has been another challenging but successful operation for Greater Manchester Police. Our officers and staff have performed to the highest of standards to ensure a safe and successful outcome.
"The Saint-ÿtienne supporters came to Manchester in large numbers and, to their credit, engaged fully with us to ensure a lively atmosphere.
"Both sets of supporters represented their clubs well and I hope everybody enjoyed their trip to Old Trafford.
"I would also like to thank the people of Manchester for their continued co-operation in the policing of these events; your support makes a big difference."
