Your Inspector

Mark Kenny
My name is Mark Kenny and I am the new Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector for Whitefield and Prestwich.
I started my career in Lancashire Constabulary in 1995 and the majority of my time was spent serving the local communities of Blackpool and the Fylde coast. I moved to Hertfordshire Constabulary in 2005 before returning to the North West in 2008.
I have experience in a number of roles and departments ranging from CID through to 24 hour Response policing.
I am passionate about Neighbourhood Policing and am keen to build on the excellent work that is being done in Prestwich and Whitefield. Over the next few months I intend to get out in the community to hear the policing concerns of local residents which is one of the cornerstones of the Policing Pledge.
We have seen some significant reductions in crime and anti-social behaviour across Bury over the last year and we will work hard as part of Team Bury to ensure this continues.
Anti-social behaviour in particular will be one of our main priorities and if anyone witnesses any anti-social behaviour taking place, I would urge them to report it to the police immediately, so we can act accordingly.
Partnership working will also be one of my key focuses in the coming months and I intend to work closely with the Local Area Partnership Managers to enable us to ensure that our communities can have complete confidence that when they contact us about the issues that mater to them – something will be done about it.
I also want our communities to feel that they can work with us to reduce crime and disorder in their areas and they can contact us in complete confidence with information on any incidents in their area.
