Danilo Milovanovic

Tackling anti-social behaviour continues to be the main issue affecting your quality of life. We have put a lot of hard work into tackling this and I’m pleased to say that this work is paying off and we are starting to see a reduction in incidents.
Operation Divert has been in place for a few months now. This is a joint initiative with the police and various agencies including Challenge and Support Team and Integrated Youth Services. As well as additional high visibility patrols at key times on Friday and Saturday evenings, officers have been carrying out test-purchasing operations and have been speaking to young people about the consequences of getting involved in anti-social behaviour.
We have seized alcohol from underage drinkers, contacted parents to come and pick up their children, and we will continue to enforce Direction to Leave legislation and carry out arrests where necessary.
Tackling anti-social behaviour is not just about moving groups of young people on, so we have been working with Youth Services to put positive activities in place, including the recent launch of a youth-only zone at Saddleworth Pool, providing free sport and dance sessions.
My officers and myself are looking forward to going along to the many community events taking place this summer in Saddleworth and Lees. Please come along and have a chat with us and tell us your concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in your community.

Thank you

Danny Milovanovic
