Your Inspector

Inspector Phil Spurgeon

Phil Spurgeon

We are pleased to say that we have seen significant reductions in crime over the past twelve months across the Central area of Bolton.

We recently had a spike in vehicle crime in the town centre, but a dedicated vehicle crime operation was run to address this, which involved close work with the vehicle crime unit, CCTV control room and visiting second hand shops to ensure stolen goods aren't being traded through these premises. Officers also gave out vehicle crime prevention materials to shoppers.

We are aware of concerns regarding anti-social behaviour in the Willows Lane and surrounding area, with groups of young people drinking there and some criminal damage has taken place.

Officers have been working to deal with this and have arrested some of those responsible. We will continue to concentrate on this issue over coming weeks and extra patrols will be in place on Friday evenings, as this is the time you have identified as the peak.

We are also working with other agencies to provide improved youth activities in Deane and Willows and other Central neighbourhoods over the summer months.

Thank you for your support - it is vital to us.

Inspector Phil Spurgeon
