Talking to police about the issues that matter to residents living in south Salford is now even easier following the opening of a new public enquiry counter at Eccles Police Station.
Previously, the station has been a base for local officers and has never been open to the public.
However, in order to make services more accessible, police have installed a counter so that residents do not have to travel to their next nearest police station in Swinton. The enquiry counter will be open Monday to Friday from 2pm – 4pm and is situated on Gorton Street so feel free to pop in between these times if you want to speak to us. Alternatively, you can phone us on 0161 856 5317.
Ensure your vehicle is less attractive to opportunist thieves by removing valuables. Leaving items such as laptops or mobile phones in full view is means it is likely they will disappear by the time you get back to your car. Please make sure you have locked your car and set an alarm if you have one. Empty your glove compartment and leave it open so people can see that there is nothing in.
The climate isn't as warm as what it has been but please continue to keep doors and windows shut and locked even when you are in - One in three burglaries are down to thieves getting in through open doors and windows. Keep gadgets and valuables out of sight and away from windows. Use lights, radios and timer switches, this will make your home look occupied and if you have an alarm, please use it.
Don't forget we are continuing to hold Police And Communities Together (PACT) meetings and surgeries so you can meet your local officer and discuss issues that may be affecting you and your family.
