Your Inspector

Anne Scott
This month a number of warrants have been issued in the Abram area, targeting drug dealers and disrupting organised crime. There have been a number of arrests, which will lead to successful prosecutions.
We continue to target off road vehicle nuisance in the Abram area and with an initiative set up on the Millers Lane Estate we have seized some vehicles acting in an anti social manner. Similar work is being undertaken in Low Hall Park, Ambers Wood Common and on the Maypole Estate at Abram.
We are working closely with Mad Jacks/Queens Nightclub following a review of their licensing conditions. Although Ashton is a very safe place we are conscious that people’s perception differs from the statistics and therefore we are listening and looking at changes.
Work to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage has been ongoing in the Hindley area. We fully understand the importance and the effect this kind of behaviour has on the community and we continue to prioritise such incidents.
We are patrolling hot spot areas on Friday and Saturday evenings, confiscating alcohol, directing individuals to leave certain areas and we are also taking details for our records to help us identify trends and repeat offenders.
