Integrity and Professional Standards

Integrity and Professional Standards in policing are about ensuring that the people who work for the police uphold the values of the service, strive to do the right thing in all situations and maintain public confidence.

GMP endeavours to attain the highest standards of professional behaviour. It has committed to the Code of Ethics which has been presented to Government as a Code of Practice and details principles and standards of professional behaviour for the policing profession of England and Wales.

GMP aims to be as transparent as possible in all its dealings with the public and from this page you can access a number of reports or links relating to integrity and professional standards within GMP.
