Inspector - Hulton

Inspector Ruth Llewellyn

Welcome, my name is Inspector Ruth Llewellyn and I am part of the Westhoughton/Hulton Neighbourhood Policing team based here at Scholey Street Police Station. I am fortunate to work alongside a team of dedicated Neighbourhood Beat officers and Police Community Support Officers who have a great depth of knowledge and experience in tackling our local issues.

In relation to burglaries we have recorded a decrease since November last year in Westhoughton and Hulton, As a local team we have a tactical plan we are working towards and will share any disclosable information in future. Unfortunately we have identified a spike in antisocial behaviour and will focus on the prevention of further offences. During the longer days, please ensure you are aware where your children are, who they are with and what they are doing.

To avoid becoming a victim of burglary please lock your doors even when you are in. Don’t leave valuables on view from the outside, place them in a drawer and take all necessary precautions to prevent this type of offence. During the longer days, please ensure you are aware where your children are, who they are with and what they are doing.

Great partnership working and strong relationships with both internal and external partners is so important to provide the best service which is quite rightly expected from the community. This is key to neighbourhood policing because better relationships build trust and confidence and in turn , help us to gather information about what’s happening in communities, enabling us to tackle issues quickly and effectively.

As we move forward towards the summer months we will have numerous engagement opportunities for the public to come and speak with the team. I would urge you to do this or make contact through the website and lets continue the conversation about making communities safer,

You can contact us via 101 to report incidents, 999 for emergencies, or email us at Boltonsouth@gmp.police.uk for any ongoing crime updates, or to provide confidential intelligence
