Inspector - Waterhead

Jacqueline Prest

Inspector Jacqueline Prest

I was actually born here in Oldham and having lived here for most of my life I know how warm our people are and what a strong community spirit we have. I have over 20 years operational police service with Neighbourhood Policing at its heart.

On the 1st of March 2018 I became the dedicated Neighbourhood Inspector for Oldham Town Centre, St Mary’s, St James and Waterhead areas. We have geographically aligned officers who work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within each of these areas giving you improved visibility and greater reassurance. These officers will work alongside your already established Neighbourhood teams to understand, identify and find sustainable solutions to new and reoccurring issues in your communities.

As a team we are committed to keeping you safe, providing you with a visible, professional and approachable service that is there when you need us. Our focus remains on tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, supporting victims and safeguarding vulnerable people.

As a service we have been through some difficult times and I know we still have challenges ahead. Keeping you safe is not just the responsibility of the police – everyone has their part to play and we cannot continue to do this without your help or that of our partner agencies.

As a member of this community you are in the best place to see something that is suspicious or out of the ordinary, be our eyes and ears and call the police on 101 or anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information.

Finally, I want to say how proud I am to be your Neighbourhood Inspector, and I look forward to meeting some of you in the future.
