My name is Inspector Paul Wood, welcome to our Neighbourhood web page. I am the Inspector for the North and West Heywood and Hopwood Hall areas.
For the past 18 months I have been the Neighbourhood Sgt for this area and am delighted to be promoted and retain responsibility for policing within Heywood. During my time working in Heywood I have observed the keen community spirit that exists here and hope to galvanise this to help us achieve an even greater reduction in crime and anti-social behavior by working together.
Over the coming 12 months I will be coordinating a number of initiates to reduce anti-social behavior and arrest offenders. I hope you see the positive results of these.
With the increasing demand on staff we have been keen to link up with other agencies to ensure that the right people are on hand to deal with vulnerable people. The benefits of this are already being observed with the most vulnerable in society getting the help they need at the earliest opportunity.
I believe that working with the community is key to any success that Heywood Neighbourhood team attains. We will interact with the community in a number of ways: online PACT meetings will be conducted every month and face to face meetings will be conducted every 3 months or by exception. PCSOs will conduct surgeries within the community and most importantly you will see my team out and about speaking and engaging with you all.
Information from the public is crucial to successful policing and I would urge anyone who has any information that may assist our investigations or locate offenders, to contact myself or a member of the team.
Please keep telling us your concerns, because if we don’t know the issues that are affecting our area and that are blighting our community we cannot take action to resolve these issues.
If you have concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in the area please contact us on the numbers provided on these web pages. You can also give information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
