My name is Inspector Andrew Fern welcome to our neighbourhood web page. I am the Inspector for the North and West Heywood and Hopwood Hall areas.
During my service as a police officer I have always prided myself in giving the very best service that I possibly can, and these are the standards that I expect from my team of officers. Over the coming months my officers will be doing their utmost to arrest criminals, bring in wanted offenders and see that justice is served.
As we move into the summer months we are already having reports of sneak-in burglaries due to insecure doors and windows, and the team will be out and about trying to highlight insecurities, but again I appeal to you as our residents to not only look after your own properties, but also assist vulnerable friends neighbours and relatives, if you see windows and doors which are insecure and vulnerable let them know.
Anti-social behaviour is also a big issue at this time of year, there is a lot of work ongoing by our team and our partners and we will continue to drive this, things such as off-road motor bikes are a big concern and we will take action when possible. These offenders are irresponsible and selfish, not only do they cause a danger to the public, but they also damage public areas and sports fields.
I am very passionate about partnership working and I understand that the most important partner is you our community, you are our eyes and ears, and without your help we can’t bring in those offenders who disrupt our communities. Information from the public is crucial to successful policing and I would urge anyone who has any information that may assist our investigations or locate offenders, to contact myself or a member of the team.
Please keep telling us your concerns, because if we don’t know the issues that are affecting our area and that are blighting our community we cannot take action to resolve these issues.
If you have concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in the area please contact us on the numbers provided on these web pages. You can also give information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
