Inspector Clare Anderson

I am Inspector Clare Anderson the new neighbourhood Inspector for Pemberton and Douglas, on behalf of my team I welcome you to our new webpage for these areas.

As part of GMP’s focus on neighbourhood policing I would like to introduce you to your areas dedicated team of neighbourhood beat officers, and police community support officers. These officers have responsibility for all issues within this area.

I work with both these teams and their Sergeant, Melanie Roberts along with partners in the Council and local housing providers to tackle issues in your community which are impacting on you.

I joined Greater Manchester Police in 2001 as a new recruit in Salford, since that time I have worked in a number of policing roles both uniformed and plain clothes gaining valuable experience on how to tackle crime. My recent roles have included both Neighbourhood Inspector at Salford and Partnership Inspector. This has provided me with a wealth of experience in tackling long term community problems with our partner agencies. I am from the Wigan area and feel immensely proud and passionate about working the area as the neighbourhood Inspector.

The force is now working to the Target operating Model (internet link here) it is my responsibility to ensure a detailed plan of our area’s key problems/ priorities is put together for the next 12 months. This plan will need the police our partners and the community to work together in order to resolve these problems to make your community a better place to live.

I no longer want the priorities to be set just by the police, I would like you to get involved and tell me what you would like the police to spend time dealing with to make your community a better place to live. In order to do this I will have live Facebook chat nights were you can voice your concerns and ask questions of what the team is doing.

I along with my team will also be visible in the area, we do want to know what is affecting your community and quality of life, so please let us know when you see us around, or contact the team direct.
