Job summary
You will support Counter Terrorist investigations by receiving, indexing and researching information entering the CTU. You will conduct research across all databases, overt and covert and produce research packages as required. Contributing towards the production, dissemination and presentation of intelligence packages in line with the National Intelligence Model, you will conduct immediate research within the operations room as required, to inform decision making by the SIO, operations room manager, Silver or Gold.
With knowledge and experience of major crime scene investigation procedures (MIRSAP), you will have knowledge of the National Intelligence Model and the management and dissemination of intelligence. Computer literate, you will have carried out duties including inputting, recording, retrieving of information and associated filing and be trained and experienced in Indexing and Researching Holmes 2, NSBIS, CLUE or any other system where records are indexed. Please note training will be given in the use of systems/software, techniques, methods and procedures.
Applicants must possess a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business purposes.
This is a designated post under the Force Vetting Strategy and will therefore attract an enhanced level of vetting.
36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, rotating weekends
This post will be re-located to the new purpose built GMP Headquarters at Central Park, Northampton Road, Manchester. Completion of this building is expected to be early 2011
