Greater Manchester Police offer a wide range of police staff roles across the force area. Please visit our Police Staff pages for more information. However, please note that presently, the number of vacancies open to external applicants is limited.
The Greater Manchester Police Authority has approved GMP's plans to recruit 150 student police officers over the next three years. Initially the recruitment focus will be on filling these roles from GMP's PCSO's, Special Constables and other Police Staff. The details of the recruitment plan will be published in mid to late March.
Police Community Support Officers
All PCSO meetings are fully booked.
The Special Constabulary consists of volunteer officers, who give up their time freely to assist with the policing of Greater Manchester. As a Special Constable, you will work alongside regular officers and PCSOs in the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams. To find out more, please visit our Special Constabulary pages.
Please note: In order to apply for the Special Constabulary, you must first attend an information evening. The purpose of the information evening is to provide you with full details of the recruitment process, initial training programme and role of a Special Constable. For details of upcoming information evenings please click the 'events' tab on the left side of the screen. If no events are listed, please regularly check our website as this will be updated once further information evenings are scheduled. Information evenings are usually held on a monthly basis.
