New Sergeant for Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing Team (Rochdale)
Sergeant Colin Macdiarmid will work with Sgt Carl O’Brien and Inspector Lin Houldershaw who cover the Bamford, Healey, Norden, Rochdale central, town centre and Spotland and Falinge areas.
Previously a response sergeant in Rochdale he has been a police officer for 15 years. He said: “I am looking forward to the many challenges that lie ahead and working together with the local community and partners such as the council, housing associations and community leaders and associations in the area. I am keen to get stuck in to the problems in my area to help make them safer places for all of the community”
Off duty Sgt Macdiarmid is keen on keeping fit and looks after his twin girls.
He joins the team alongside new community beat managers, PCs Rhys Ibbotson, Jenny Kenyon and Angela Anderton who are new to the town centre team. Acting Sergeant Brendan Walsh has reverted back to police constable for Rochdale Division
Residents are reminded of the Police surgery, which takes place on January 15 at Cutgate Baptist Church, Edenfield Road, Rochdale from 10am.
Sergeant Macdiarmid added: “Police surgeries are a good way for the public to meet their local officers and to raise any concerns or issues with them. Our officers are committed to Neighbourhood Policing and improving the quality of life for those people living and working in the community.
