Residents encouraged to book in to library surgery (Tameside)
Residents are being encouraged to visit a new police surgery at Stalybridge Library opening Tuesday 2 February 2010.
The surgeries are to be held every Tuesday at 11am and will be staffed by officers and PCSOs at the library on Trinity Street and residents from Stalybridge, Dukinfield and Mossley are being encouraged to attend to raise any concerns or policing issues they may have.
PCSO Gary Etchells said: “The library is an ideal place to hold a police surgery as it centrally located and covers most of the ward’s areas with 12,000 people per month passing through its doors to use the facilities.
“The surgery gives residents the chance to meet an officer and chat about their community. We want to hear about any concerns and will also be giving advice on home security and personal safety as well as providing help to set up Home Watch schemes.
“Tameside East Neighbourhood Policing Team is working towards delivering the Policing Pledge, giving people a clear minimum standard of service they can expect from their local police.
“We are asking for the community’s input to influence the policing of their neighbourhoods, to ensure our service is focussed on the needs of local communities, addressing the issues that matter most to people.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to come and talk to us about what is going on in their area as the success of these surgeries relies on the support of the local community.”
The police surgery is located at Stalybridge Library, Trinity Street, SK15 2BN.
