Inspector Dave Lees joins the team following 26 years of policing service. The Rochdale born officer began his policing career at the Metropolitan Police where he worked for seven years before joining Greater Manchester Police. During his time with GMP he has been based at Oldham Division, the Tactical Vehicle Crime Unit and Roads Policing Unit he has also worked as both a Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant and Response Inspector at Rochdale Division.

Inspector Lees said: “I’ve been in the post a month now and already I can see it is a fantastic team with a dedicated priority ward sergeant and officers working to meet the needs of those in our communities. My main priority is to deliver the Policing Pledge and by consulting with the community we will identify their priorities so that my officers can focus their efforts in improving the quality of life for the local community.”

Sergeant Chowdhury joined Greater Manchester Police in June 2003 after working for the Metropolitan Police for over two years.

During his time in GMP he has worked in response and CID at Longsight and response sergeant for Trafford Division. He has most recently worked from Chester House where he was staff officer to ACC Dave Thompson and ACC Justine Curran.

He said: “Neighbourhood Policing is a new challenge for me and I am keen to start working with our local partners such as the housing association, council and community organisations to make the community a safer and more pleasant place for everyone to live.”
