Chief Constable's Message from the report

The past year has been both challenging and exciting for Greater Manchester Police.

We have seen real reductions in crime across the board, and in particular, remarkable success in our battle against gang and gun culture where, working with other agencies and the communities most affected, we have made a real difference.


So many of our achievements are down to the support of partner agencies and the public.

We do however recognise that challenges still remain. Crime is still too high, in particular burglary, and we are determined to do all we can to make Greater Manchester a safer place to live, work and socialise. That involves us relentlessly
pursuing criminals, and also putting our staff at the heart of every community through our neighbourhood policing teams.
