Neighbourhood Policing Terminology

 

GMP has developed common terminology to ensure that there is consistency in the delivery of Neighbourhood Policing across the Force.

Wherever you are working in GMP, the broad structure outlined below will apply to your Neighbourhood Policing arrangements:

Force	The Force comprises 12 geographical areas known as Divisions
Divisions	Each Division is split into a number of Neighbourhood Areas
Neighbourhood Areas (Blue)	A Neighbourhood Area is a group of Neighbourhood Communities
Neighbourhood Communities (Pink)	A Neighbourhood Community should be a meaningful locality to the public, or a town centre, or an electoral ward
