You will receive a comprehensive five-week training course based within the Greater Manchester area, which will give you the basic knowledge and skills to enable you to commence duties as a visible, high profile uniformed presence.

Your training will enable you to meet Force Priorities i.e:

  • Reduce crime together with our partners
  • Provide reassurance to our communities
  • Provide an efficient and effective service

  • Roles / responsibilities, overview.
  • Diversity / professional standards / grievance
  • Communication skills
  • Conflict management
  • Risk assessment
  • Human rights / discretion
  • PDP system
  • Pocket Note book / evidence
  • Property
  • Criminal Justice System
  • Offences (various)
  • Public order & anti-social behaviour
  • Fixed penalty notices
  • First Aid
  • Illness in the street / mental health
  • Radio training / data protection
  • Policing priorities / problem solving
  • Crime scenes
  • Crime prevention / reduction
  • Crime recording (relevant offences and circumstances)
  • Hate crime
  • Court procedures and practical
  • Major incidents
  • Terrorism / searches
  • Stop Account
  • Vehicles, abandoned, stopping and seizing

Once on Division you will also receive a local induction and ad-hoc training to support the five week comprehensive training course.
