Salford is a city in Greater Manchester that covers 37 square miles and the five districts of Salford, Eccles, Worsley, Irlam and Cadishead, and Swinton and Pendlebury. Salford is immediately west of the city of Manchester with Blackfriars, Broughton and Ordsall districts being a short walk from Manchester’s shopping and central business centre – just across the River Irwell. As one of the first industrial cities, Salford has many historical places of interest such as Worsley village and Bridgewater Canal. Other landmarks include Ordsall Hall and Salford Lads’ Club. Salford Quays hosts The Lowry, Imperial War Museum North and MediaCityUK as well as outlet shopping, watersports, cruises and sport.
